Robottisotilaat sekä erilaiset lennokit ovat uusinta uutta pimeiden operaatioiden maailmassa. Nämä laitteet mahdollistavat sotatoimet täysin ilman tappioita, ja niiden käyttö voi olla hyvinkin laajaa. Kun puhutaan vaikkapa taistelulennokeista eli UCAV:stä Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle, niin mieleen tulee heti joku Reaper-lennokki, joka iskee kohteeseensa pitkälle kehitetyllä ohjuksella. Tällainen lennokki voi tietenkin olla valtiollisella tasolla toimivan erikoisoperaattioryhmän työkalu, ja sen takia noihin laitteisiin ja automaation myyntiin pitää kiinnittää huomiota. Ja esimerkiksi kuvassa oleva AC-47 (Kuva 1) voidaan tietenkin muuttaa robotiksi, kuten mikä tahansa muukin lentokone, ja tuollaista museokonetta kukaan ei varmasti epäile miehittämättömäksi UCAV-laitteeksi. Eli tuon koneen muutostyöt voidaan tehdä asentamalla tarvittava tietoteknikka tuohon runkoon, ja tehtävään sopii Predatorin automatiikka.

Näet esimerkiksi taistelulennokin ohjaajan ei tarvitse poistua kotoaan, kun hän käyttää asettaan, ja se tietenkin vähentää mahdollisuutta, että hänet paljastetaan operaattoriksi. Ja kuten olen kirjoittanut, niin robotin muisti voidaan pyyhkiä, joten kiinnijäämisen mahdollisuus laskee tuolloin melkein olemattomaksi. Robottihelikoptereiden ja muiden lennokkien avulla voidaan suorittaa esimerkiksi salamurha tai tuhontaoperaatio ilman että kukaan jää kiinni, ja tehtävään valituille ohjaajille voidaan kertoa, että he osallistuvat vain harjoitukseen.

Eli he näkevät vain nuo alueen taktiset kartat, ja lennokit lentävät alueelle automatiikan avulla, ja vasta siellä ne kytkeytyvät ohjauskonsoleihin. Toisin sanoen saattaa olla niin, että nämä operaattorit eivät edes tiedä, että nuo ilmassa tankattavat robotit ovat oikeasti operaatiossa, ja kun tehtävä on ohi, niin silloin nämä robotit joko tuhotaan tai niiden tehtävätallenne tuhotaan. Näin ei edes lennokin ohjaaja voi kertoa kenellekään todistettavasti tappaneensa ihmisiä. Mutta jos puhutaan palkkasoturioperaatiosta, niin nämä lennokit voivat olla aivan toisenlaisia. Eli ne eivät ehkä pidä sisällään mitään näkyviä aseita, vaan nämä robotit toimivat ainoastaan KAMIKAZE-tehtävissä. Myös Gunship voi toimia kauko-ohjauksella.

Eli kyseessä voi olla vaikkapa modifoitu AC-47, joka varustetaan konetykillä, jota käytetään kuten kauko-ohjattavaa tuliasemaa. Kukaan ei varmasti epäilisi tuon ikivanhan museolentokoneen olevan robotti. Eli tuota konetta ohjataan etänä kuten Predatoria tai Reaperia, ja toinen operaattori sitten ohjaa sen tykkejä. Nämä kauko-ohjattavat lentokoneet voivat olla esimerkiksi myös räjähteellä lastattuja pienkoneita, tai kauheimmissa skenaarioissa joku matkustajakone otetaan etähallintaan, ja joku todella kauhea ihminen tekee sillä WTC-iskun toisinnon, eli johonkin liikennekoneeseen asennetaan nuo etähällintalaitteet yhtiön tietämättä, ja sitten murhenäytelmä on valmis.
