Onko tähtilima eli "Starjelly" peräisin jostain tutkimuslaitoksesta?

Kuvassa yksi (Kuva I) on asia, jota pidetään erittäin suurena mysteerinä. Kyseessä on taivaalta pudonnut limapallo, jollaisia löytyy aika ajoin Maan pinnalta. Nämä limapallot ovat aiheuttaneet kuolemantapauksia ainakin karjan sekä muiden kotieläinten parissa. Tutkimusten mukaan ne ovat oikeastaan muodostuneet ihmisen valkosoluista, joissa ei ole tumaa. Tämän takia jotkut henkilöt ovat ajatelleet, että ne on kehitetty esimerkiksi jossain biologisen sodankäynnin tutkimuslaitoksessa eräänlaiseksi biologiseksi pesuaineeksi, eli näitä tumattomista valkosoluista muodostuneita mykoplasmapalloja on ajateltu käyttää tilanteissa, joissa biologinen komponentti uhkaa suurta määrää ihmisiä, eli tilanteessa missä vaikkapa Ebola-virusta on päässyt maastoon,voidaan ajatella että tällaista mykoplasmaa ruiskutetaan maastoon, ja se sitten tuhoaa tuon viruksen tehokkaasti sekä täsmällisesti.

Virusten ongelma on siinä, että ne käyttävät soluja lisääntymiseen, ja jos esimerkiksi makrofagi syö AIDS-viruksen, niin silloin tuon viruksen perimäaines pääsee kyseisen solun tumaan monistumaan. Joten sen takia ollaan kehittämässä biologiseen torjuntaan perustuvia AIDS-lääkkeitä, jotka perustuvat valkosoluihin, joiden tuma on poistettu. Kyseinen lääke tehdään siis yksinkertaisesti poistamalla valkosoluista tumia, ja sitten nuo solut ruiskutetaan takaisin ihmiseen. Toinen vaihtoehto on valmistaa geneettisesti manipuloimalla kantasoluja tuottamaan tumattomia valkosoluja, joita käytetään AIDS-virusten tuhoamiseen. Jos solussa ei ole tumaa, niin silloin virus ei saa perimäainestaan liitettyä sen tumaan, ja tällöin se ei pääse monistamaan itseään solun perimän avulla.

Tuota valkosolua tai kantasoluja on voitu sitten muutenkin muokata geneettisesti, niin että siihen on saatettu liittää se geeni, mikä saa mykoplasmabakteerin muodostamaan limapaakkuja, jolloin tuon aineen tai miksi tätä nyt kutsutaan tuhoamisteho on parempi, kuin yksittäisillä soluillaolisi, ja näin voidaan kehittää eräänlainen biofairy, jolla tuhotaan bakteereja sekä viruksia myös erilaisilta pinnoilta. Noista plasmioosisoluista on sitten poistettu tumat, jotta tuo biofairy ei lähtisi leviämään maan pinnalla.

Toki tällä tavoin voidaan kehittää todellisen elämän versio elokuvassa "Blob" (Kuva II)  esiintyvästä tappaja-ameebasta, joka liuottaa ihmisiä tuossa kauhelokuvien klassikossa. Ja varmasti tilanne, missä tuohon plasmioosiin putoaa vaikkapa veripisara on sikäli vertahyytävä, että tuolloin tuohon protoplasmaan voi siirtyä tuma, joka saa sen muuttumaan oikeaksi soluksi, eli kyse olisi  lisääntymiskykyisen superameban luomisesta, jollaista en varmasti halua oman saippualiuokseni sekaan tai vesijohtoihin, koska tuolloin voi edessä olla elokuvan "Blob" muuttuminen todellisuudeksi.

The shape of the brain means more than neuro connectivity.

Well, we might say that the brain is in its entirety. Another thing is that all things in the brain have some kind of purpose. The shape of the brain and, especially, the folding of the brain shell are extremely important things. Those folds are expanding the brain's surface areas. Or as you see from the image. The glass fibers are on both sides of the DNA.  DNA molecule is the thing, that involves the genetic code of the cells. Genetically engineered cells can make DNA, and those molecules can used as the nanomaterial's structures. DNA manipulation makes it possible to create new types of extremely strong materials.
